After an extremely busy Fall wedding season, it’s time for a personal post. In November, I was asked to photograph a styled fashion shoot with designer Cassie Parrish. If you haven’t talked to Cassie, you need to! She’s one of my favorite people in the industry. She’s just so sweet and talented. Her dresses are stunning, so I was extremely happy to help out.

She was going for a very different style than I’m used to. She wanted a moody, stylish, James Bond-esque type vibe. I tend to be a bit brighter than more vibrant, but I was happy to take on the challenge. I had the opportunity to experiment with different lighting techniques and really stretch my creativity. I still managed to sneak out during sunset and get a couple shots for me!

It was a bit of a learning curve to start. I also managed to break one of my lights on the way in making me so grateful for voice activated light stands (humans who stand where I tell them. Thanks Aaron!).

Besides the minor catastrophe, it was a phenomenal shoot. I was able to work with so many amazing models and a fantastic venue.

If you are a bride looking for a dress, please consider Cassandra P. She can make your vision a reality for less than you would spend at a bridal retailer. Check her out!
